Precision and better gaming experience

Going from 200 CPR to 1600 CPR made a real difference. It made games like Arkanoid much more playable. So instead of spinning the spinner and hoping to reflect the ball, I can just turn the spinner with precision.

The combo board also makes setup simpler as it combines the trackball and spinners as one mouse. Definitely a must have!

Great stuff

Out of the box, the spinner was too slow for me to play Breakout on Atari 50 on Steam. Now it's fine. Good thing too, since I bought the Tankstick Max for that game!

It took me three months to build up the nerve to do the upgrade, but it ended up being pretty easy. Honestly, opening the bottom of the case was one of the more difficult parts... and that was easy!

Still, some things to look out for: (1) Space is a little tight on the inside, so removing & plugging connectors is harder than it should be. (2) You don't want to double-up on the high-resolution discs. Three are included in the kit because one is a spare. (3) The new spinner sensor modules look exactly the same as the old ones... so don't do this upgrade half-asleep!

After that, make sure the dip switches are all pointing in the direction you want (one of mine came different from the default) and you're set.

Spinner Booster Kit

Very easy to swap out. Works incredibly well. Now I’m able to play Breakout, Tempest and a host of other retro games just as if I were playing in an arcade. You will not be disappointed at all!
